Final Glide Computer

    
This screen allows final glide calculation around all the turnpoints, optimizing the final glide either for the fastest speed (same Mc Setting on all legs), or for distance (using  Mc setting with the least altitude loss for each leg). 
     When optimizing for distance, the +0 row in the right pane contains arrival altitude when flying all the legs at Mc setting giving the least altitude loss on each leg, the +1 row contains altitude when flying at optimum Mc +1, and so on.
    The upper right pane shows direct glide to the next turnpoint, including Speed To Fly (STF) at different McCready settings.

    To activate the next task turnpoint to fly to, the pilot touches the appropriate tab in the upper part of the screen (in this example the screen shows the user 9nm from the second turnpoint (Id 87: Pinenut). To fly to that turnpoint, the pilot is supposed to turn left 165 degrees. The remaining task distance is 15.6nm.

Recently a Graphical Final Glide Display has been added to WinPilot Std (starting with version 1.01.118).
McCready setting is adjusted automatically depending on the difference between the current altitude and the glide slope altitude. If the glider is below MC 0 glide slope, WinPilot sets MC 0 as the current setting. Once the glider reaches final glide slope at a higher MC setting, the MC setting is automatically adjusted to that value. When the MC setting reaches 4 knots (2 m/s), the advancement of MC setting stops, and the program shows the altitude above that glide slope.

WinPilot PRO also adds Graphical Final Glide Display with Push-Pull indicator.

Graphical Final Glide Display: Current McCready setting is read from the Borgelt B50 vario MC knob (here: 0.0). Glider is 2040ft above glide slope at that MC. Each bar represents 5% of the altitude required to make the goal.

Push-Pull (Speed-To-Fly) Indicator - the black bar on the left side of the Final Glide bars -  in this case it is showing that the current speed is too fast.
